Founded in 2009 in Reiger Park, Boksburg, with a clear mandate: to interrupt cycles of limitation by creating platforms where children can see, experience, and pursue a future beyond their circumstances.
For 17 years, TCTF has remained rooted in community while expanding its reach and measurable impact. What began as a small initiative serving 60 children has grown into a structured intervention platform reaching over 1600 children and families annually.
We are not an initiative. We are infrastructure.
To design and implement structured, measurable programs that provide:
To become a fully resourced community support hub delivering integrated social relief, educational advancement, leadership development, and psychosocial support to vulnerable children and families.
Our Shard Values:
Our value framework ensures that every program we deliver
carries measurable significance, produces tangible impact,
builds enduring legacy, and is executed with disciplined
consistency — resulting in meaningful and sustained behavioural
change.
Our Values:
S.I.L.C - Significance. Impact. Legacy. Consistency.
I began with conviction, not capital — and with a clear belief that environment should inform potential, not limitation. I was not exposed to resources and networks but rather a community defined by crime statistics, unemployment, and scarcity — I had to decide, become a product your circumstances or build an alternative.
Raised in Reiger Park, a community often making headlines for violence, I grew up understanding risk, fear, and the consequences of limited choices. I also understood something else — that if young people are not given vision, structure, and exposure, life will decide their trajectory for them.
At 23 years old, with R3,000 in my savings and no institutional backing, I founded The Children Their Faces (TCTF) in my mother’s yard. There were no blueprint and no funding pipeline — only conviction and a clear mandate: to build an alternative and teach, from lived experience, how to navigate peer pressure, overcome environmental limitations, and deliberately choose a different path.
My mother was my first champion. When resources were limited and that R3,000 could have addressed many practical needs at home, she chose vision over comfort. Mom worked alongside me, validated the calling on my life, and endorsed the belief that if we were going to do this, we would do it wholeheartedly. That decision shaped the foundation of TCTF. If I could build this with R3,000 and conviction, imagine what we can accomplish with strategic investment.
Your investment does not disappear into goodwill — it translates into structured programmes, measurable impact, and visible change in one of Gauteng’s most vulnerable communities. We all had to start somewhere. I started in my mother’s backyard. Seventeen years later, we are still standing — and ready to scale.

Because of TCTF, I found the confidence to believe in myself and the courage to lead others. I know have others who look up to me and that gives my life so much meaning.
TCTF helped me believe in myself and discover that I can make a real difference, it showed me that my voice and ideas truly matter.
The day I received my orange TCTF t-shirt and cap was the day I started believing in my own potential.
I joined TCTF as a shy six-year-old — today I lead with confidence because someone believed in me.
TCTF didn’t just give me skills; it gave me a family.
Seeing the positive change in my own son showed me the real impact TCTF has on our community.
You always remember my family. I can’t tell you how much it means. Every year, you make sure we get something. That gives me hope. Thank you
I thought it might last three years — but nearly twenty years later they are still changing lives. I have so much respect for you.
When TCTF returned after COVID, it felt like hope returned for our children.
Our weeklong Winter School Camp offers children a dynamic, hands-on learning experience designed to keep them engaged, inspired, and empowered. Participants explore practical skills in entrepreneurship, agriculture, and life development, guided by expert facilitators and guest speakers who share real-life stories of challenges, failures, and success to motivate every attendee.
Every year on 18 July, TCTF executes its Blanket Drive as part of its Mandela Day intervention strategy, delivering targeted winter relief to 67 high-risk households in Reiger Park. Families are identified through a structured vulnerability screening process to ensure responsible and impactful allocation of resources.
The programme creates a safe, professional platform where complex issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional resilience are addressed in a practical and accessible manner. Led by a multidisciplinary panel of certified health and wellness professionals — including doctors, psychologists, nutrition specialists, fitness experts, and licensed therapists — the campaign delivers evidence-informed guidance and referral pathways.
The Christmas Transformation Programme is a three-week structured youth development initiative culminating in a large-scale community Christmas celebration benefiting over 500 children and families. During the December holidays, participating learners commit to daily performing arts training from 10:00 to 16:00, developing skills in singing, dance, stage performance, and public speaking that builds confidence, leadership capacity, teamwork, and artistic excellence. Light daily meals are provided to ensure care and consistency throughout the period.
The Dignity in Every School Bag Campaign is designed to reduce school drop-out rates by addressing the socio-economic barriers that compromise academic persistence. TCTF provides brand new school bags, essential stationery, and uniform support to learners who demonstrate commitment to their education despite adverse circumstances. Many learners within our community face overcrowded living conditions, limited access to adequate study environments, insufficient nutrition, and a lack of essential school resources — realities that significantly increase vulnerability to disengagement.
Behind every transformed life is a partner who chose to invest in possibility—these are the brands helping us rewrite the story of our community. Aligned in vision. Invested in impact. Committed to lasting change.
